Delhi public school Nacharam\Scunderabad
observed their annual Science Week on the December 8 and 9.
This year’s
assembly and activities were designed around the theme, “the amazing world of
physics”. At the core of science day, was the mission to generate awareness in
the students so they could connect theoretical, classroom physics to their
everyday lives.
The assembly was inaugurated by
vice principal (middle school), Gowri Venkatesh. Traditional oil lamps were
given the go-by, instead lights were lit up through a sound sensor system
developed by the students.
Whether it was spikes on
foot-ball shoes, wheels on the cricket kit bag, a kite soaring in the sky or
innumerable other everyday activities, students learn about underlying
scientific principles. Interspersed between the video show and explanation were
a series of attention grabbing practical activities ranging from INVISIBLE
GLASSES and Fire Rainbow to chemical chameleon’, which elicited a series of ‘Wows’ and ‘Awesomes’ from the audience.
